'She believed she could and she did!'
Former campers and staff share from their glowing experiences.
“As a Peace Corps Volunteer, Camp GLOW was an amazing opportunity to support the youth in Grenada and connecting with female leaders across the country. This was at the end of my service and I wish I had more time with all the amazing connections we made through planning and implementing Camp GLOW.”
“I started as a camper at a time in my life when I was going through a big loss. I gained a family there and as a result returned the following two years as a Junior Counselor, followed by the role of a staff member. In 2023 I was promoted to Junior Director. A lot of knowledge and opportunities, friendships and sisterhood was formed as a result of this camp; Camp GLOW Family. For as long as I am able, I will support this program because a lot of who I am today is because of them.”
“Camp G.L.O.W. has been a pivotal part of my personal growth. It instilled in me a deep understanding of the power of leadership, self-confidence, and community. I left the camp feeling inspired, equipped with new skills, and more determined than ever to make a positive impact on the world around me.”

“I am proud to share my journey with Camp GLOW, which has been an essential part of my life and personal growth. I first joined Camp GLOW in 2012 as a camper when it was just starting out. As a young girl growing up, I struggled with self-esteem, especially as a fat child. I often felt out of place and lacked confidence in myself. However, Camp GLOW gave me a safe space to discover my strengths, embrace who I am, and recognize my value.
Through the years, I kept returning to Camp GLOW, each time taking on more responsibilities. I transitioned from being a camper to a junior counselor and eventually became one of the directors in 2019. This journey not only allowed me to grow as a leader but also helped me develop critical life skills like public speaking. I went from being a quiet participant to confidently leading sessions, speaking to groups, and guiding young girls.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my involvement was being able to educate younger girls about important topics like sex education. I saw firsthand how much they needed guidance, encouragement, and a non-judgmental environment to learn and grow. Camp GLOW gave me the tools to empower these young women and teach them to make informed decisions about their lives.
I am deeply grateful to my mother and the Peace Corps volunteers who introduced me to Camp GLOW and supported me on this incredible journey. Without their encouragement, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to overcome my insecurities and become the confident, capable woman I am today.
Camp GLOW has changed my life, and I wholeheartedly believe it can do the same for your teenage daughter, niece, cousin, or any young girl in your community.
Thank you.”

The exercises and the people helped me gain confidences in myself, helped me socialize better, I understood emotions better and learned to empathize with other and helped me all around as a person.
